Manchester United about to confirm appointment of Dutch manager Erik Ten Hag
Recent reports from credible sources (The Athletic, UTD Report) have suggested that the current Ajax manager, Erik Ten Hag will be announced as the Red Devil’s next permanent manager.
For weeks media has speculated that Manchester United executives are searching for an ambitious head coach to succeed Ralf Rangnick, the current interim manager.
Two common names were Erik Ten Hag (ETH) and PSG’s Argentine manager, Mauricio Pochettino. ETH is a fan favourite, recognized by his exciting, fast-flowing brand of football. In contrast, Pochettino’s Premier League resume leaves much to be desired trophy-wise.
If Erik Ten Hag’s appointment is confirmed, he might provide a breath of fresh air in an otherwise turbulent season.
Many great managers, the likes of Jose Mourinho and Louis van Gaal, have failed to bring significant silverware to Old Trafford. It is still unclear whether ETH has what it takes to dominate football as Sir Alex once did – dominance Manchester United fans have been deprived ten long years.
